Yiota's 83rd Birthday

Yiota’s 83rd Birthday On October 11 we celebrated the birthday of my wife Yiota! Kids are looking forward to their birthdays thinking of the many presents they will receive from their loved ones and the special attention they will get! Growing up, they want to accelerate their age to go to school and become young adults and gradually become productive citizens, creating their families and trying to fulfill their dreams. Older adults who have gone through all those stages and living the last segments of their lives, thinking that every birthday could be their last one, view their birthdays as an opportunity to be with their loved ones, children, grandchildren and for few the lucky ones, their great grandchildren! This year Yiota was celebrating her 83rd birthday and the relatives residing in Tucson were invited to celebrate with us this milestone of her life. Nikki, our oldest granddaughter, prepared the delicious birthday cake. Present were the family of our granddaughter Zoi with her husband Aaron and their children Jackson, Ayla and Stella, the three of our six great grandchildren. Nikki with her family, Luke, her husband and the two children Sophia and Demetrios, two of our great grandchildren were also present. My nephew Andreas with his wife Stacy and children were also present. Celebrating her third birthday on the same day in Boise Idaho, was also Jeraldine, our granddaughter, Maria's daughter and one of our 6 great grandchildren. Our daughter Vassilia who lives in Rapid City South Dakota and our granddaughters Maria who lives in Boise Idaho and Kristina who resides in Bozeman Montana participated from afar sharing their feelings and love, using social media. Birthdays for most young adults is an opportunity to evaluate where they stand and where they want to go, dreaming, setting goals, strategizing and making decisions how to succeed and if possible surpassing their parents. For older people going through the third and fourth stage of their lives is a time for reminiscing, introspection and evaluation of what they have achieved through the years, feeling either happy or unhappy depending on the degree of their satisfaction! Birthdays are an opportunity for grand and great grandparents to have their children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren, if they are lucky to have, coming together and celebrating the gift of life in their eighties like Yiayia! Seeing the great grandchildren having the greatest fun playing together and running in the rain having so much fun, enjoyment and laughs, was the best part of the birthday celebration
